This is not the book for the serious practitioner. If you are looking for real wisdom you may find this book too simple and shallow. Some of the concepts used here like "the story of the Eagle and the Snake" are completely misleading due to perhaps lack of historical knowledge form the Author. The story of the Eagle and the serpent is a religious fabrication from Christianity. In Native American culture the Serpent was never seen as a negative symbol. The negativity of the snake symbol comes from the Bible, not from American shamans. For those who are looking into deeper understanding and higher knowledge, I strongly recommend "Shamanism As a Spiritual Practice for Daily Life" by Thomas Dale Cowan and Tom Cowan. As a Native American woman who was taught shamanistic healing by her great grandmother.
